The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is seeking experts to analyse infectious diseases and related health challenges. ECDC will commission studies to track patterns, assess health risks and develop advanced analytical tools. A key aspect of this work involves providing sound scientific advice and timely and reliable assessment by processing vast amount of data, such as disease trends and human interactions, to build mathematical models that predict how infections spread.
Our COMPREHEND experts will contribute to this scientific endeavor. By conducting in-depth research, producing reports, publishing findings in scientific journals and presenting at international conferences, COMPREHEND experts provide critical insights into infectious disease dynamics. The overall goal is to equip policymakers with reliable, data-driven information to understand disease transmission, evaluate public health risks, and measure the effectiveness of health interventions. With COMPREHEND’s expertise, we support informed decision-making to enhance disease prevention and control efforts across Europe.

Spring School PREPARE-EU: Connecting European Expertise for Pandemic Preparedness
The Spring School PREPARE-EU will take place on June 2-3, 2025, in Leuven, Belgium. Organized by KU Leuven as part of the EU project PCR-4-ALL and the Leuven One Health Initiative in collaboration with 12 other EU projects. We're excited to have COMPREHEND represented by Berit Lange and are enthusiastic about connecting with fellow experts. The event brings together European experts in pandemic preparedness.
